God's Not Dead remains my favourite and most inspirational film. Filled with good teaching presented as part of an emotion-filled story, here are two pieces of music which continue to lift me up every time.

What I know

Tricia Brock

Background music when a teenager tells her Muslim father that she's a Christian. And gets slapped up and thrown out of the family home.

"...faith eludes me... fear got the best of me... worried about tomorrow..." How these words often resonate with me!

It’s been another day when it seems like faith eludes me
Everything’s been so confusing
Fear got the best of me
Now I’m lying here worried about tomorrow
‘cause the weight of everything I don’t know
Is so heavy I can’t sleep

But the truth remains the same
Even when I don’t know what to pray

But what I know
Is You, my God are real
No matter how I feel
You’ve never let me go
And what I know
Is there will never be a day
You aren’t just a breath away
And through it all I’ve gotta hold
To what I know

I could throw my fist in the air demanding answers
But in spite of all the questions
I’m still giving You my life
And if it doesn’t turn out like I think it should
It doesn’t change the fact You’re always good
Your ways are higher than mine

And the truth remains the same
Even when I don’t know what to pray

But what I know
Is You, my God are real
No matter how I feel
You’ve never let me go
And what I know
Is there will never be a day
You aren’t just a breath away
And through it all I’ve gotta hold

To love that’s never failing
To hope that keeps on saying
“carry on”, “carry on”

what I know
Is You, my God are real
No matter how I feel
You’ve never let me go
And what I know
Is there will never be a day
You aren’t just a breath away
And through it all I’ve gotta hold
To what I know

Gonna hold to what I know……
What I know……
What I know……

Hallelujah for the Cross

The Newsboys

Sung just after this Christian music group has got a dying and faith-cynical girl to accept Jesus. The key Gospel message in just a few minutes of song!

Up to the hill of Calvary My Savior went courageously And there he bled and died for me Hallelujah for the cross

And on that day the world was changed A final, perfect lamb was slain Let earth and heaven now proclaim Hallelujah for the cross

Hallelujah for the war He fought Love has won, death has lost Hallelujah for the souls He bought Hallelujah for the cross
What good I've done could never save My debt too great for deeds to pay But God, my Savior, made a way Hallelujah for the cross

A slave to sin, my life was bound But all my chains fell to the ground When Jesus' blood came flowing down Hallelujah for the cross Hallelujah for the war He fought Love has won, death has lost Hallelujah for the souls He bought Hallelujah for the cross

Hallelujah, hallelujah And when I breathe my final breath I'll have no need to fear that rest This hope will guide me into death Hallelujah for the cross Hallelujah for the war He fought Love has won, death has lost Hallelujah for the souls He bought
Hallelujah for the cross
Hallelujah for the war He fought Love has won, death has lost Hallelujah for the souls He bought Hallelujah for the cross Hallelujah for the cross Hallelujah for the cross
